1. DYNABRAND VENTURES
Brand Identity Concept and Design
The client was a PR firm formerly known as Dynabrand (without the “Ventures” that is now in the name) and wanted a brand identity that reflected the pivot the company was taking into the venture capital and brand incubation space. The new company, Dynabrand Ventures, would be focused on identifying “sleeping giants”; brands with potential for explosive growth. These are companies that the firm would research and identify as promising but lacking the financial support and business mentoring neccessary to get to the next level.
I worked with Dynabrand to understand how they would describe themselves as a new company. The words we settled on were: gritty, determined, bold, empowered, fired-up, propelled, committed and dynamic. I started to connect what they were doing as a venture capital firm and brand incubator to the dynamics of high-level, elite sports. The coach-player relationship, the deep levels of commitment, utilizing the best available technology to gain a competitive advantage, a desire to stoke momentum, all with the ultimate goal of competing. Where the rubber meets the turf the empowered competitor (whether athlete or start-up CEO) has been propelled forward to meet this moment head-on.
When creating this sports metaphor and extending it into the visual language, I was inspired by ads by companies such as Addidas, Nike, Everlast, and Equinox. There was a focus on bold typography, action shots, and the spirit of competition.
